Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik has been named as the captain of the overseas T20 franchise Guyana Amazon Warriors for the upcoming Caribbean Premiere League (CPL). The 36-year-old, who has also captained Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League, holds an experience of two decades in the international cricket. He has played a total of 102 T20 internationals and 264 one day internationals for Pakistan.

Reflecting on the induction of Malik as skipper, Amazon Warrior head coach Johan Botha said that the player's experience would come in handy for the team and his calmness would help in handling the pressure situations. "It's great to have the experience of Shoaib leading us this year. He is a very calm leader, which will be great in pressure situations on the field," ESPNcricinfo.com quoted Botha, as saying.
