Fast bowler Craig Overton has been called up in the England squad for the forthcoming five-match One-Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand. The pacer will replace Liam Plunkett, who has been ruled out of the ongoing T20 tri-series and subsequent ODI series due to a recurrence of a hamstring injury. Overton made his impactful Test debut in his two appearances in the Ashes series against Australia. He was ruled out of the remainder series following a fractured rib while batting in the third Test at Perth.
