A resolution was passed at the Board of Control for Cricket in India&rsquo;s 84th Annual General Meeting in Chennai yesterday to resume international cricket at the Cricket Club of India. <img alt="Sevanthi Parekh and N Srinivasan" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/sep/Sevanthi-Parekh.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 311px;" /> BCCI president N Srinivasan (right) being felicitated by CCI chief Sevanthi Parekh during the club&rsquo;s platinum jubilee function last November It is learnt that N Srinivasan, who was re-elected as BCCI president, agreed to bring back international cricket at the club&rsquo;s Brabourne Stadium.u00a0 &ldquo;All members agreed that CCI should get its due. It is one of the finest venues in India and has a great history. A few technical issues were discussed before passing the resolution,&rdquo; Sanju Kothari, joint treasurer and vice-chairman of cricket at CCI, told MiD DAY. The Brabourne Stadium has hosted 18 Tests, eight ODIs and a T20 International tie. It last hosted an international in 2009 when India became the World No 1 Test team for the first time in history. Sri Lanka were trounced by an innings and 24 runs in that game. <img alt="Brabourne Stadium" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/sep/Brabourne-Stadium.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 297px;" /> The 2006 ICC Champions Trophy final was the last ODI played at the historic venue while Brabourne staged the ICC Women&rsquo;s World Cup earlier this year. &ldquo;We have been writing to the Board president, requesting him to consider CCI for international matches. &ldquo;Our request was finally considered. It is a great moment for the Club,&rdquo; said Kothari, who represented CCI at the BCCI AGM. Srinivasan, who was awarded honorary lifetime membership of the club last November, promised to bring top-class cricket back to the iconic club. &ldquo;Things usually take time at the BCCI. But I promise to put your request to the committee members,&rdquo; Srinivasan told CCI president Sevanthi Parekh on stage during the club&rsquo;s platinum jubilee celebrations. CCI was the hub of cricket during 1950s and 60s. It not only housed the Board&rsquo;s office, but was the epicentre of all cricketing action. Action, however, shifted to Wankhede Stadium because of issues with the Mumbai Cricket Association and the BCCI.u00a0
