Pic/Getty Images A day after its CEO Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested in connection with the raging spot fixing scam in Indian cricket, the CSK issued a handwritten unsigned statement which was read out to the media by Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming at the Eden Gardens. Proud of our record &ldquo;The players and support staff are distressed by the allegations and news reports concerning the CSK franchise and the IPL. We have played every match to the best of our ability, and are very proud of our record of having appeared in the play-off in all six seasons of the IPL. &ldquo;The players and support staff have no direct knowledge of either the betting or the separate spot fixing allegations,&rdquo; the statement said.u00a0Meanwhile, Fleming attributed &ldquo;loyalty to players&rdquo; and &ldquo;consistency in selection&rdquo; for the success of his team which has played in five IPL finals and won two of them. CSK&rsquo;s success secret &ldquo;We had a strategy right from outset that we will be loyal to players that became apparent when we retained 95 per cent of our players when all the players went for auction the second time. What we have been able to do is reach another level by retaining the same set of players allowing them to become good friends over the years,&rdquo; said Fleming on the eve of final against Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens. He said CSK&rsquo;s consistency in selection has enhanced the level of camaraderie between players. &ldquo;Our players relationship has been getting better and we have been consistent in our selection,&rdquo; he said.
