Beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 37 runs
Three wickets each for Amit Mishra and Pradeep and a 46-ball 75 from Paul Collingwood helped Delhi Daredevils thrash Royal Challengers Bangalore by 37 runs at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi on Sunday.
With this win, Delhi has inched towards the semi-final of the Indian Premier League season 3.
Besides a slow 54 from Jacques Kallis, no Bangalore batsman posed a threat to the Delhi bowling line-up. Ross Taylor did hit two consecutive sixes off Mishra but was soon caught leg before wicket off Rajat Bhatia. Earlier in the day, Paul Collingwood blasted an unbeaten 46-ball 75 to guide Delhi Daredevils to a competitive 184 for five against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Collingwood slammed three fours and seven sixes to anchor the Delhi innings after skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and elected to bat first at the Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium.
Virender Sehwag (35) and David Warner (33) set the tone for Delhi, but the hosts once again lost too many wickets in the middle overs in the form of Gambhir (1), Dinesh Karthik (6) and Kedar Jadhav (7).
But it was Collingwood's blitzkrieg which saw the home team gather a healthy total in 20 overs as the Englishman completed his second IPL III half-century.
Sehwag (35) gave Delhi a blistering start as only fours and sixes flew from his bat.
