Former India skipper Dilip Vengsarkar has joined hands with the ruling Bal Mahaddalkar group for the June 17 biennial elections of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

It is learnt that Vengsarkar will stand for the vice-president’s post. It can be recalled that Vengsarkar provided a tough fight to late former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Vilasrao Deshmukh in 2011 for the president’s post and since then has been quite vocal against politicians taking top posts in cricket administration.
