Colombo: Dinesh Chandimal will captain Sri Lanka in the T20 series against New Zealand in place of regular captain Lasith Malinga who has been forced out due to an injury, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said yesterday.

The 32-year-old Malinga could not recover from a knee injury that he sustained during West Indies' tour of Sri Lanka in October and November and was ruled out of the series.
