Nottingham, 1983: Zimbabwe beat Australia by 13 runs, World Cup

The 1983 World Cup got off to a sensational start as Zimbabwe, then a non-Test nation, defeated an Australia side featuring all-time greats in Allan Border, Rodney Marsh and Dennis Lillee by 13 runs. Zimbabwe captain and future England coach Duncan Fletcher led from he front with an unbeaten 69 before taking four wickets for 42 runs.
