KL Rahul’s lack of footwork against quality pace attack was monitored by the eagle-eyed Indian coaching staff during the team’s net session on Monday while an exhausted Hardik Pandya was given a recovery break ahead of the T20 World Cup match against the Netherlands.

That’s possibly why Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Harshal Patel were told to bowl outside the off-stump. Rahul wasn’t comfortable on one occasion, having to close the face of his bat. Had it been a match situation, the point fielder would’ve been interested. When Yuzvendra Chahal bowled, Rahul rocked back and pulled against the spin.
