Ahmedabad: Sri Lanka skipper Angelo Mathews is dejected with Sri Lanka&rsquo;s dismal show in the first two ODIs of the five-match series against Sri Lanka. India won the first ODI in Cuttack by 169 runs.

On Thursday, Virat Kohli&rsquo;s men crushed SL by six wickets to go 2-0 up in the series. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 274-8 in 50 overs. In reply, India never looked in any sort of trouble as they chased down the target in 44.3 overs. &ldquo;I think we&rsquo;re slowly getting better, but I&rsquo;m disappointed and embarrassed by the fact that we were not competitive enough against the Indians,&rdquo; Mathews was quoted as saying by ESPN Cricinfo.

&ldquo;They thrashed us in the first ODI and also here. It was a convincing performance by them. We need to get our game up in the next few games to win against them.
&ldquo;It would have been better if I had got a 60 and we won the game. Unfortunately, we ended up on the losing side,&rdquo; said Mathews, who top-scored for Lanka with an unbeaten 92 at Ahmedabad.
