The ICC World Cup 2023 match between Australia and Afghanistan will be played in Mumbai at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Both team's chances for the qualification of the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup 2023 are still alive.


Afghanistan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi has won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia.

The Afghanistan team have impressed cricket fans by delivering performances in all aspects. They have four matches out of seven games played. Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi is leading the team from the front and has consistently performed for the team in the ICC World Cup 2023.

Players like Azmatullah Omarzai and Rahmat Shah have been a boon for Afghanistan as they have a huge contribution to guiding the team in their four victories, so far.

Afghanistan Squad: Hashmatullah Shahidi (c), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Mohammad Nabi, Ikram Alikhil, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, Naveen ul Haq.

Australia Squad: Pat Cummins (c), Josh Inglis, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitch Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, Adam Zampa, Mitchell Starc.

The Bengal Tigers' domination over the Lankan Lions

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to bowl first. Opening batsman Pathum Nissanka scored 41 runs and gave a good start for Sri Lanka. Following him, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Charith Asalanka smashed 41 runs and 108 runs, respectively. The Lankans set a target of 280 for Bangladesh to chase down.

Bangladesh's Najmul Hossain Shanto and skipper Shakib Al Hasan played an innings of 90 runs and 82 runs, respectively but were not able to guide their team to the win. Bangladesh won the match by three wickets.
