India's Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj produced a superb burst of new-ball bowling before Mohammed Shami took two wickets in two balls as Sri Lanka collapsed to 29-8 in their ICC World Cup 2023 league stage clash to leave themselves eyeing an unwanted record.
The lowest completed total at a World Cup is Canada's 36 all out against Sri Lanka at Paarl in 2003. The corresponding record for any one-day international is 35, a total posted by both the United States against Nepal in Kirtipur in 2020 and again by Zimbabwe when they played Sri Lanka in Harare in 2004.
