Former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist returned to his 'homeground', the WACA (Western Australian Cricket Association) here yesterday to give his son's school cricket team a tour of the iconic venue. Gilchrist, was born in New South Wales, but went on to switch domestic loyalties to Western Australia later on in his career.

The former Australia captain was seen taking the dozen-odd kids around, proudly showing them the different areas of the historic cricket ground like the nets, the media centre, the dressing rooms and even took them near the pitch. Gilchrist was known for his big-hitting, so a comparison with current South African dasher AB de Villiers seemed obvious.
The 43-year-old three-time world champion, however, said that the South African was far more superior. "AB's the most versatile cricketer in the world. He does things that I didn't even think of doing. He's an exceptional talent," said Gilchrist.
