Adelaide: Dhawal Kulkarni may not have made it to the 15-member India squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup, which begins on February 14, but the right arm medium-pacer from Mumbai has been asked to stay back in Australia with the Indian team as a cover for swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

It is learnt that Bhuvi did not land properly while bowling a delivery in India's recent warm-up match against Australia. Ever since that delivery, Bhuvi was seen in some discomfort which resulted in him bowling slower than his average pace of 120-125 kmph. In fact, even medium pacer Stuart Binny bowled faster than him at times.
