In the fourth game of the five-match Test series, England captain Ben Stokes has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Team India in Manchester.

Currently, the hosts are leading the five-match Test series by 2-1 and have the opportunity to seal the series if they manage to win the ongoing match.

Heading into the fourth Test, the Ben Stokes-led England side only made one change to their playing XI. Liam Dawson has come in as a replacement for an injured Shoaib Bashir. The spinner was ruled out for the remainder of the series owing to an injury.

Meanwhile, on the Indian side, Anshul Kamboj has been handed the debut cap as there are a few pacers unavailable due to injuries. Also, Karun Nair has been dropped, and in his place, Sai Sudharsan has been given another opportunity.

Earlier, India had faced a severe blow as two pacers, Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh, were ruled out of the match due to injuries. Before that all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was also ruled out for the remainder of the Test series as he sustained an injury during the gym session.

It will be a do-or-die contest for the visitors as they suffered a loss by 22 runs in the previous clash, played at the Lord's Cricket Ground. It will be a stern Test for captain Shubman Gill to emerge victorious with limited resources available. In his captaincy debut series, he has already scored 607 runs, which included three centuries.

He will be eyeing to achieve the feat of 6,000 runs in the international circuit. So far, the right-hander has amassed 5,853 runs with 17 centuries and 25 half-centuries. The 25-year-old is shy of 107 runs from achieving the feat. The right-hander also requires just 86 runs to surpass his idol Virat Kohli's record for the player to score the most runs in the SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia) series. In the 2014 tour of Australia, Kohli registered a tally of 692 runs, including four tons and a half-century.

India's confirmed playing XI for the fourth Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (C), Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Anshul Kamboj.

England's confirmed playing XI for the fourth Test: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (c), Jamie Smith, Liam Dawson, Chris Woakes, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer.
