At the close of day three of the IND vs ENG 4th Test, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal were unbeaten on 24 and 16 runs, respectively. Star spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav shone brightly. The spin duo bagged a total of nine wickets. Ashwin registered a fifer for 51 runs and Yadav dismissed four English batsmen for 22 runs. Having snaffled the key wickets of Zak Crawley (60) and Ben Stokes (4) in the second session, Kuldeep dismissed Tom Hartley (7) and Ollie Robinson (0) in the third session

Ashwin had taken three wickets in quick succession to help India make a comeback after the hosts conceded a 46-run in the first-innings lead. The senior-most bowler in the line-up, Ashwin, returned into the attack to complete his 35th five-for in Test cricket, while also going past former skipper Anil Kumble to have taken the most wickets in the format for India at home.

England were bowled out for 145 runs in their second innings. Zak Crawley was the highest run-scorer for the side in their second innings of the IND vs ENG 4th Test.

Before Ashwin and Kuldeep's show with the ball, wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel showed extraordinary character by smashing 90 runs. Spinner Yadav shouldered Jurel in the innings built-up for India. The duo milked 76 runs, despite the fall of wickets at regular intervals.
