On Day 2 of the fourth Test match between Team India and England, the fans present at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground witnessed something special from visitors' vice-captain Rishabh Pant.

On the previous day, Pant was forced to leave the ground as he suffered a blow to his foot while batting. Following the incident, the left-hander was seen in pain, limping, and blood was bleeding from his foot.

Despite a broken foot, Rishabh Pant came to bat on Day 2 against the 'Three Lions'. Struggling with the injury, he scored 54 runs after facing 75 balls, including three boundaries and two maximums.

Following Pant's gritty approach, former Team India pacer Ishant Sharma told ANI, "This shows how mentally strong he is. If someone does not give up in life, then they can make a comeback in life".

During his knock, the swashbuckling left-hander has levelled with former Team India opening batsman Virender Sehwag for the record of the most sixes in Test cricket for India.

Both are enjoying the top spot with 90 maximums to their names in the format.

Pant also surpassed former skipper Rohit Sharma on the list of leading run-scorers for India in the World Test Championship (WTC) era. Currently, Pant has scored 2731 runs in 38 Test matches, leaving behind Rohit's tally of 2719 runs.

Further, Ishant Sharma spoke about the young Indian seamers, Arshdeep Singh, Akash Deep, and Anshul Kamboj, who are currently participating in the ongoing England tour, which is being played in the United Kingdom.

"There is no greater feeling than representing your country, performing well and making the team win," he added.

Later, Team India was bowled out for 358 runs in 114.1 overs. England's opening duo, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett, delivered stunning knocks. Facing 113 deliveries, Crawley smashed 84 runs, which was laced with 13 boundaries and a maximum. On the other hand, Duckett missed his century by just six runs. He faced 100 balls and smashed 13 boundaries.

Ollie Pope and Joe Root will resume Day 3 with the overnight score of 225 runs for the loss of two wickets in 46 overs.
