Ashwin jokingly said, no one has stopped England from bringing in Andrew Flintoff, and said it was Stokes' mistake to hand the ball to Brook. Jadeja and Washington Sundar's match-saving centuries were the highlights of the fourth Test

After a theatrical end to Team India's fourth Test match, former Team India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has reacted to Ben Stokes's handshake moment at the end, making his thoughts felt.
It all happened when Stokes, along with his teammates Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett, were seen asking India's all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to call off the match for an early draw. Jadeja refused the offer as he, along with his batting partner, Washington Sundar, were nearing their respective centuries.
Speaking in support of Jadeja, former Team India spinner, Ashwin said that after facing the entire English attack, a person complete his century. He also labelled Stokes' act as 'double standards'.
"Double standards are these. You are frustrated. You can fight with your players, you can punch the wall. Do whatever. But by shaking hands, you are saying 'I am frustrated, you also do not make a 100. You also go crying. How can it be like this? You are saying, 'I am unhappy. You also do not be happy.' He (Jadeja) has worked since morning. He has played Archer. All the bowlers you bowled, he played. Should he leave a century?," he said on his YouTube Channel, 'Ash Ki Baat'.
Stokes also asked Jadeja if he wanted to score his century against a part-time bowler, Harry Brook.
Following the statement, Ashwin jokingly said, no one has stopped England from bringing in Andrew Flintoff, and said it was Stokes' mistake to hand the ball to Brook.
"Your question was 'Do you want to make a century against Harry Brook?' No. He wants to make a 100. Bring Andrew Flintoff, we did not say no. You are bowling Harry Brook. That is your mistake not ours. I want to ask Zak Crawley, what is your role? (for his remarks), said the veteran of 106 Test matches.
Jadeja and Washington Sundar's match-saving centuries was among the many highlights of the fourth Test. The duo toiled against a premier English attack and kept the series alive.
After concluding with the fourth Test match, Team India will lock horns against the 'Three Lions' in the fifth and final match. The Oval will host the crucial encounter, scheduled to start from July 31.
