In the fifth T20I match against England, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ind-vs-eng-5th-t20i-saba-karim-backs-shreyas-iyer-to-create-his-own-identity-23639187" rel="nofollow">Team India's skipper Shreyas Iyer</a> has won the toss and elected to bowl first at The Ageas Bowl in West End.
The "Men in Blue" will enter the clash with two major changes, where <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ind-vs-eng-5th-t20i-parthiv-patel-questions-sanju-samson-omission-after-series-loss-against-england-23639199" rel="nofollow">wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson</a> has been picked in the playing XI by dropping Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Washington Sundar also makes way for Suryansh Shedge.
When asked if the delay in getting to the ground has affected the team, Iyer said, "Not really. I personally feel that we've seen almost everything in this series and also the one which we played before. So, another challenge, another day altogether. We are up for the challenge and it's a great opportunity overall".
He also said that he expects the team to give a 100 per cent on the field, irrespective of the result.
"I just want them to have a solid set of mindset where they just go in and try to get the best out of themselves, rather than sulking or being in that situation where you are a bit hurried out the game, give yourself some time, relax, take a breather. So just be in the moment and stop thinking about what's happened or what's going to happen".
Speaking about the changes in the playing 11, Iyer said, "Yeah, we've got two changes. Suryansh Shedge in for Washington and Sanju Samson comes in for Sooryavanshi. I feel this is the time we need to try what's the best going forward for us as a team. So based on that, we decided this".
On the other hand, the "Three Lions" have made just one change. Liam Dawson comes in place of Rehan Ahmed.
After the toss, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/t20-world-cup-2026-disappointed-but-extremely-proud-of-england-players-skipper-brook-23619693" rel="nofollow">England's captain Harry Brook</a> said, "We would have had a bat, so pretty happy. Well, we've got a little bit of an aim. If we win today, we go to world number one. So that's the back of our mind. But the same as what we've done all series really, is adapt well to the surface and good communication".
Speaking about &nbsp;(Adil Rashid&rsquo;s 150th appearance in the format, Brook added, "He's been around for a long time now. He's a very valuable player for us. And his skill and guile that he has and ability to outfox players is phenomenal. And it's awesome to have him inside".
