Team India’s opening batsman, KL Rahul, shared a heartwarming message for his fellow teammate Rishabh Pant and England pacer Chris Woakes for redefining the standards of the game.
Earlier, in the five-match Test series against England, Pant sustained an injury to his finger, from which he recovered soon. But later, in the fourth Test match, in an attempt to reverse sweep Woakes, the left-hander sustained a blow on his foot.
The injury left Pant in visible pain, following which he was forced to leave the field mid-match. On the very next day, the left-hander took everyone by surprise when he walked onto the ground with immense pain and a broken foot.
On the other hand, England’s pacer Woakes also injured himself during the fifth Test match. In an attempt to prevent the ball from touching the boundary rope, the speedster sustained an injury to his left shoulder.
Three days later, when England were 17 runs shy of registering a victory, he made his appearance with the bat. With one hand covered under his jumper, Woakes showcased gritty character during the final clash.

During the fifth and final Test match against England, India’s Mohammed Siraj emerged as a hero for the visitors. He was named the Player of the Match for his crucial contributions in the final clash of the contest. The pacer claimed four wickets for 86 runs in the first innings and returned with figures of five wickets for 104 runs in the second essay.
Apart from him, several newcomers stepped up to the occasion for Team India. From Sai Sudharsan to Akash Deep, the players showcased signs of reliability for the future. Additionally, the five-match Test series ended on a positive note for Shubman Gill, for whom it was his debut series as a captain. Surely not the result he wanted, but there could have been no better outcome from the series than gaining experience, despite suffering a loss in the final match.
