Former Team India pacer Varun Aaron feels Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna bowled well in the fifth Test match against England.
"Siraj and Prasidh bowled five high-intensity overs each after tea, and that effort resulted in two crucial wickets. Siraj was quite unlucky, as he has been throughout the day--he bowled unbelievably well. So many of his deliveries hit the pad, but he just didn't get the LBW calls," said Aaron on JioHotstar.
The former pacer also said that England have now found themselves in a tough situation, as Shubman Gill didn't allow the hosts to take easy singles.
"England now find themselves in a tough spot, and I genuinely feel this break is going to do India a world of good. The bowlers get to rest, stretch, have a massage, and get some treatment from the physios. They can come back fresh and give it everything again. This post-tea session has been brilliant--accurate bowling, smart captaincy by Shubman Gill, who didn't allow easy singles, and two very important wickets," he adds.
On Day 5, England will resume the play with a score of 339 runs for the loss of six wickets. Jamie Smith and Jamie Overton are still unbeaten at the crease on the scores of two and zero runs, respectively.
If England lose quick wickets in the first session, it will remain to be seen whether injured Chris Woakes comes out with the willow, especially heroics from Pant in the series. Earlier, cricket fans witnessed the grit and resilience from Team India's wicketkeeper-batsman Pant, who walked out to bat with a broken foot, and finished his innings with 53 runs.
Currently, England is leading the five-match Test series by 2-1, and will be eager to register a win at The Oval. On the other hand, the series is also on the line for skipper Gill, who has made his debut as captain, along with coach Gautam Gambhir, who has lost two series as the head.
Even as centuries from Joe Root and Harry Brook put England in the driver's seat, the Indian pace unit continues to give hope following a late fightback. The spectators will be excited to witness the result of the highly anticipated five-match series.
