After drawing the fourth Test match in Manchester, Team India will now shift their focus to the fifth and final clash at the Oval. Currently, the five-match Test series between Team India and England reads 1-2 with the 'Three Lions' having the upper hand.
Ahead of the last Test, India will look to go for a tie, for which the presence of lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be crucial.
Earlier, Bumrah was advised not to play consecutive Test matches, considering his workload management. Following the advice from the professionals, the management decided to play the pacer in just three out of five games.
So far, he has already played three matches, but Team India has found itself in a situation where it needs to bring their 'A-game' to end the five-match series in a draw.
Speaking about his availability for the final clash, skipper Shubman Gill told BBC, "If he feels like he's fully fit and available for us, I think it would be a great deal for us".
If he doesn't line up for the crucial clash, Gill said that they still have the required qualities in their bowling lineup.
"If he's not playing, I still think we have the right kind of bowling attack," added the 25-year-old.
After bowling 33 overs in Manchester, Bumrah has four and a half days to recover his fitness for the crucial clash.
The Oval will be hosting the final match from July 31. In the ongoing Test series, Bumrah is India's joint highest wicket-taker along with Mohammed Siraj (14).
Additionally, head coach Gautam Gambhir said that so far, the fast bowlers are are not suffering from any injuries in the camp.
"All the fast bowlers are there. There is no injury scare," Gambhir said.
He also said that the decision on Jasprit Bumrah's feature for the final Test match is yet to be finalised.
"We haven't had any conversation around the combination for the last Test. No decision has been made on whether Jasprit Bumrah will play or not. Ultimately, whoever plays, they will try and do the job for the country," he said.
