Team India is set to clash with <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ind-vs-nz-1st-t20i-jacob-duffy-heaps-praise-on-team-india-vaibhav-sooryavanshi-23656197" rel="nofollow">New Zealand</a> in the five-match T20I series. The first match will be played on October 22 at the Hagley Park South in the central city of Christchurch.
Ahead of the match, cricket fans will be excited to see veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar in action. The pacer has made a return to the Indian mix after nearly four years.
Speaking about his return, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ind-vs-nz-1st-t20i-from-bhuvneshwar-kumar-to-glenn-phillips-here-are-top-five-players-to-watch-out-for-in-christchurch-23656017" rel="nofollow">Team India's skipper Shreyas Iyer</a> said that the pacer brings a lot of experience to the side.
"Bhuvi brings a lot of experience to the team. And we were lacking that, especially after the IPL. We had a lot of new bowlers," he said during the pre-match press conference.
He also added by saying that Bhuvneshwar has a good idea of how to dominate in the shortest format of the game.
"But in T20, if you see his career graph, he has won the IPL in each of the last two years. So, he has a very good idea of how to dominate this format," said Iyer.
The second T20I match will be played on October 24 at the same venue. The third <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ind-vs-nz-t20is-bhuvneshwar-kumar-eyes-two-news-records-ahead-of-series-against-new-zealand-23656053" rel="nofollow">T20I</a> match is scheduled to be played on October 27 at the Wellington Regional Stadium in Wellington, followed by the fourth game on October 30 at the Eden Park in Auckland. The Seddon Park in Hamilton will host the fifth clash on November 1.
It will be interesting to see if the "Men in Blue" manage to secure win in the series against the "Black Caps". After the T20I series, both team will engage in the ODI and Test series.
