In the third T20I match against New Zealand, Team India emerged victorious by eight wickets at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.

Having put to chase a target of 154 runs, the "Men in Blue" scored 155 runs for the loss of two wickets in 10 overs.


Team India's opening batsman, Sanju Samson, departed on the very first ball of his innings. Fellow opening batsman Abhishek Sharma smashed an unbeaten 68 runs off just 20 deliveries. His knock included seven boundaries and five maximums.



Ishan Kishan scored 28 runs in 13 balls, including three boundaries and two maximums.

Along with Abhishek, skipper Suryakumar Yadav stayed unbeaten on 57 runs in just 26 balls. His knock was laced with six boundaries and three maximums.

New Zealand's Matt Henry and Ish Sodhi managed to pick up one wicket each.

Earlier, opening the innings for the "Black Caps", Devon Conway departed on just one run in two balls. Fellow opening batsman Tim Seifert managed to score 12 runs in 11 balls, with the help of a boundary.

Rachin Ravindra accumulated four runs off five balls, including a boundary. Glenn Phillips smashed 48 runs off 40 deliveries, which was laced with six boundaries and a maximum. Mark Chapman garnered 32 runs after facing 23 balls. His knock also included two boundaries and the same number of maximums. Daryl Mitchell returned to the pavilion after registering a score of 14 runs in eight balls, with the help of a boundary and a maximum.

Later, skipper Mitchell Santner managed to score 27 runs off 17 deliveries, laced with three boundaries and a maximum. With this, the "Black Caps" posted a total of 153 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.

Team India's lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah returned with the figures of three wickets for 17 runs in four overs. Hardik Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi bagged two wickets each. Harshit Rana also chipped in with one wicket.

With the series already in the bag, the "Men in Blue: will lock horns against New Zealand for the fourth T20I on January 28 at the ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
