In the second Test match against South Africa, Team India suffered a humiliating loss at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati.

Spinner Simon Harmer's bowling heroics helped his side to secure a win by 408 runs against India. With this, the Proteas have scripted history by registering their first-ever series win in Indian in 25 years.

Following the historic triumph, former cricketer have expressed their opinions:

Former Team India pacer Venkatesh Prasad said that it is disappointing to see the approach of Team India in the traditional format of the game.

"Really disappointed by how India is going about in Test cricket. The all-rounder obsession is absolute brain-fade especially when you don’t bowl them. Rank Poor tactics, poor skills , poor body language and an unprecedented 2 series white wash at home. Hope this does not get washed off with Test matches 9 months away and this negative approach changes," read his post.

Former England batsman, Kevin Pietersen, who was born in South Africa, criticised India by saying the side never loses at home, unless some good players come and play.

"India NEVER loses at home, unless some very good players come and play some special knocks in Mumbai…What’s happened to India in the last couple years in Test Cricket?".

Commentator Harsha Bhogle, who is known as the "Voice of Cricket" stated that the aura of the Indian test team in India is slowly disappearing.

"There was an aura around the Indian team when playing in India. You can see it disappearing in the distance.....".

Former Team India all-rounder Irfan Pathan hailed the South African team for scripting history against India in Indian conditions.

"Well done South Africa on playing outstanding cricket vs India in India. Outplayed our team in every department," Pathan wrote.

Legendary South African batsman AB de Villiers hailed his national team by labelling the win as an "incredible performance".

"Incredible performance by every member of the team. Well done @ProteasMenCSA. Historic moment! #INDvSA".

Former Team India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said that it is a huge achievement for the Proteas and stated that the side deserved to lay their hands on the World Test Championship (WTC) title.

"Huge huge achievement for the proteas, they have put their stamp of authority and showed why they are the deserved holders of the WTC title. #indvsa".

Former England cricketer, Michael Vaughan, took a hilarious dig at Wasim Jaffer (former Team India cricketer), following the loss against South Africa.

"Don’t worry @WasimJaffer14..I know how you are feeling..#INDvSA," he said.
