Pic/AFP The Englishmen will return in the new year for a limited overs series (two T20 internationals and five ODIs). The near one-month gap is looked at as a good platform to host the one-day series against Pakistan. The last time a bilateral series took place was in 2007 when Pakistan toured India for a three-Test series. Both countries last clashed in one-day cricket here during the 2011 World Cup semi-final at Mohali. If the series takes place it could be the ideal Christmas gift for Pakistan&rsquo;s cricket set-up which was denied from hosting World Cup matches last year due to security reasons. Their players were left out of the Indian Premier League too.
