Kolkata Knight Riders were in for an injury scare yesterday when their skipper Gautam Gambhir was hit on his ankle during the practice session on the eve of their IPL opener against Delhi Daredevils today, PTI reported

A Brendon McCullum drive hit Gambhir on his right ankle. The left-hander was taken out of the field with ice packs. However, Gambhir was seen back on the field after some medication.
