Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori feels that Harsh Dubey is a clever bowler and also backed him to become a successful all-rounder in the future.
"Look, I think we're very pleased with what he's done since he's come into the team," said the former New Zealand cricketer.
Further, Vettori stated that Hyderabad was desperate for a little contribution in the IPL 2025, and Harsh made that in all three matches.
"He's obviously a very clever bowler, understands conditions well, understands how he needs to bowl and can mix it up, and I suppose we were desperate for that little bit of control and he's been able to do that in all three games that he's played so far," he added.
Initially, Harsh went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction and later joined SRH as an injury replacement. Coming in as a replacement for Ravichandran Smaran, the 22-year-old picked up one wicket for 44 runs against Lucknow Super Giants.
In their IPL 2025 last group stage match, the Pat Cummins-led side registered a dominating victory by 110 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. With three wins in the last three matches, SRH concluded their campaign with 13 points. They finished in sixth place with six victories and seven losses in 14 matches.
The 46-year-old former New Zealand cricketer said that Harsh will play a lot of cricket in the future and feels that he can grow as a bowler and as a batsman as well.
"The great thing for him is between now and the next IPL (is that) he's going to play a lot of cricket, whether it's for India A or his domestic team, there's going to be a huge amount of opportunities for him. So we believe he can grow as a bowler and also as a batter, because the batting part of it was a big part of our decision-making too," Vettori added.
Earlier, during the IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he bagged the wicket of stalwart Virat Kohli, who fell short of just seven runs from completing his half-century.
Harsh's best performance of the IPL 2025 came during the side's final group stage match against Kolkata Knight Riders. By completing his quota of four overs, the spinner registered three wickets for 34 runs.
