Mumbai Indians will be determined to outdo Punjab Kings in a bid to secure a top-two finish in the upcoming IPL 2025 playoffs when they take the field at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday.

Interestingly, former MI captain Rohit Sharma will have his sights set on a major milestone in his IPL career. The right-hander is just 67 runs away from reaching the 7,000-run mark in IPL history. If he manages to score 67 or more, he will become only the second player to achieve this feat, after Royal Challengers Bengaluru stalwart Virat Kohli.

Additionally, Rohit is set to make his 270th appearance in IPL history. The only player to have featured in 270 or more matches before him is Chennai Super Kings' MS Dhoni.

So far, across 269 matches, the 38-year-old has accumulated 6,933 runs at an average of 29.62 and a strike rate of over 131. His record includes two centuries and 46 half-centuries, with a highest score of an unbeaten 109.

In IPL 2025, Rohit has scored 305 runs in 12 games, averaging 27.72 with a strike rate of 151. He has registered three half-centuries, with a best score of an unbeaten 76 this season.

The fate of second-placed PBKS and fourth-placed MI will be decided after their final league-stage clash in Jaipur on Monday. PBKS, with 17 points from eight wins, four losses, and one no result, and MI, with 16 points from eight wins and five losses, both have a chance to surpass Gujarat Titans (GT) and secure a top-two finish, which would give them two opportunities to reach the IPL final.
