Mumbai Indians suffered a defeat by seven wickets in the IPL 2025 match against Punjab Kings. Despite suffering a loss, MI's wicketkeeper-batsman Ryan Rickelton is optimistic about his side's chances in the eliminator.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, "They outplayed us... so it was a bit of a wake-up call. I don't think it's the end of the world. Honestly, we are clicking really nicely as a team," said Rickelton.

In the IPL 2025 eliminator, the Hardik Pandya-led MI will either clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru or Gujarat Titans.

Further, he expressed confidence in his team ahead of the tournament's eliminator clash. "We just need to sharpen up one or two things with the bat, ball, and in the field as well. We've got the skills and the players to win the Eliminator," said the South African cricketer.

He also feels that MI players will focus on the areas where they need to improve. "The guys will definitely focus on the areas we need to improve, and I'm sure we'll put up a strong performance," added the 28-year-old.

During the match against PBKS, Priyansh Arya and Josh Inglis' crucial knocks helped their side to hand a seven-run defeat to Mumbai at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

After this win, PBKS will be at the top of the IPL points table and will play Qualifier 1. Only for the second time did PBKS finish in the top two for Qualifier 1, the other being in the 2014 IPL.

MI has won just one game in the last six matches in Jaipur since 2013, which came earlier this season against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

With a win over the five-time champions, MI, the Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings have claimed the top spot on the IPL 2025 points table. They concluded their group stage matches with nine wins and four defeats. With a net run rate of +0.371, PBKS have 19 points.

The Eliminator clash of the IPL 2025 is set to be played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium on May 30. The final of the marquee event has been scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on June 3.
