The eighth match of the 2026 Indian Premier League pits two storied franchises against each other as the Delhi Capitals host the Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams have won their opening game of the season and will look to get back-to-back wins to start off their season.

DC vs MI: Head-to-head record

The Mumbai Indians have dominated in their rivalry with the Delhi Capitals. Out of 37 matches, the Mumbai-based franchise has emerged victorious on 21 occasions compared to 16 wins for Delhi.

In the 13 matches played between these two sides in Delhi, the record is nearly split with Delhi holding a slight edge of 7 wins to Mumbai’s 6.

DC vs MI: Players to watch out for

For the home side, KL Rahul will be the key, providing a much-needed anchor for an otherwise explosive batting lineup. His partnership with the explosive Tristan Stubbs and David Miller will be critical in navigating the threat posed by Jasprit Bumrah.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians rely heavily on the tactical brilliance of Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah holds the record for the most wickets against Delhi in IPL history, and his ability to execute yorkers at will during the death overs often leaves opposition batters searching for answers. The addition of Mitchell Santner to the Mumbai spin department has also added a new layer of control.
