<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2026-prabhsimran-shines-as-pbks-score-107-runs-after-10-overs-against-rr-23627911" rel="nofollow">Prabhsimran Singh</a> of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) ended rumours that he had put on a lot of weight during the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
Prabhsimran, who has been a key member of PBKS' batting lineup for the last three seasons or so, shared a story on Instagram that displayed his body along with a shushing symbol. As per media reports, Prabhsimran had gained 10 kgs during the ongoing season of the IPL.
With 382 runs in 10 innings at an average of 42.44 and a strike rate of 169.02, Prabhsimran has been PBKS' second-highest run scorer so far. The opener has also scored 4 fifties during the season so far. Only Australia's Cooper Connolly has scored more runs than the Indian wicket-keeper batter (415 runs in 10 innings at an average of 51.87 and a strike rate of 168.01, including a century and two fifties).
Despite his good form this season, Prabhsimran has failed to score in the last three matches, which PBKS have gone on to lose. His lack of runs has been a problem for <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2026-there-are-going-to-be-ups-and-downs-pbks-coach-after-dc-defeat-23630091" rel="nofollow">PBKS</a>, who were unbeaten in the first seven matches, winning 6 and drawing 1.

Earlier, Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta urged &ldquo;verified voices and media professionals&rdquo; to act responsibly and avoid spreading unverified information amid the franchise&rsquo;s poor run of form in IPL 2026.
The statement comes after Punjab Kings suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, losing to the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2026-its-about-personal-pride-and-wanting-to-close-out-games-david-miller-23630187" rel="nofollow">Delhi Capitals</a> following an impressive seven-match winning streak earlier in the season. Reports alleging a lack of discipline among players on and off the field surfaced during the team&rsquo;s recent slump.
Reacting to the reports, Zinta called on people to verify information before amplifying false narratives.
There's a difference between criticism &amp; calculated misinformation. Healthy debate around the game is welcome, but the deliberate spread of fake narratives to damage individuals, the team, or the brand should not &amp; will not be taken lightly. I urge everyone, including verified voices &amp; media professionals, to exercise responsibility before amplifying unverified information. Thank you," posted Zinta on her official X handle.
