Royal Challengers Bengaluru were bowled out for 155 in their innings against Gujarat Titans after suffering a middle-order collapse.
<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2026-gt-skipper-shubman-gill-reflects-on-eight-wicket-win-over-csk-23627579" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">RCB</a> got off to a solid start but lost wickets in clusters, eventually being restricted to 155 in 20 overs. At one stage, they were well placed at 79/2 before a dramatic slide saw them slump to 126/8.
Virat Kohli led the charge early on, scoring a quickfire 28 off just 13 balls during the powerplay. However, the momentum shifted in the middle overs as wickets fell in quick succession.
Devdutt Padikkal emerged as RCB&rsquo;s top scorer with 40 off 24 balls, while Romario Shepherd added a valuable 17 runs to push the total to 155.
For <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2026-sai-sudharsan-jos-buttler-take-titans-to-82-runs-in-10-overs-against-super-kings-23627570" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Gujarat Titans</a>, Rashid Khan was the standout bowler, returning figures of 2/19 in his four overs. He received good support from Jason Holder, who also picked up two wickets in his spell.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill opted to bowl first after winning the toss, citing pitch conditions and the possibility of dew later in the game.
&ldquo;We are going to bowl first. The pitch looks a little dry and patchy. The first four or five overs could offer some swing, and if there is any dew later, we prefer chasing. These are two very important points for us. We have two home games, including this one, and they will determine where we stand in the tournament.
