Ferozshah Kotla is becoming a venue for the homeboys to return to roost. The Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper will surely take some inspiration from his other Delhi colleague, Gautam Gambhir, who notched up a victory here on Wednesday to stem the tide of defeats for Kolkata Knight Riders.
Dhawan is better placed though. After all, his side did manage to pull off an improbable win over Rajasthan Royals in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
Delhi on the other hand, are as uncomfortable at home as they are anywhere else. In fact, their home record is the worst for any side in this edition of the IPL, as much as it was in the last. The 'home' team has Kevin Pietersen as skipper, and he and his cohorts are struggling.
Delhi are effectively out of the running in the tournament, so they, at best, can be spoilers. If they manage to upset a team or two, that can play some mischief with the points table, while not really giving themselves any real boost.
Hyderabad, on the other hand, would dearly love to add two more points to their tally. And Kotla is perfect for that.
That said, they haven't exactly covered themselves with glory and the win over Rajasthan was really a gift horse. A target of 134 was made a hash of by Shane Watson's side and Dhawan emerged smiling.
Mental edge Delhi was clueless against KKR. They have largely been clueless, period. Pietersen is stuck with a side that, barring some flashes, is below par, barring JP Duminy.
So these are two points for the taking for Hyderabad, but they aren't exactly absolutely on solid footing either.
