Stating that May 18 was considered a "Black Day" due to the alleged genocide of Tamils in Sri Lanka in 2009, Tamil Desiya Kootamaippu coordinator Athiyaman urged the top police official to take appropriate measures and get the match rescheduled.
Any celebration, entertainment or sport on that day would amount to hurting the sentiments of Tamils, he said. Hence, the match should be held on some other day, he appealed.
