Kolkata: On Tuesday evening, despite heavy rain before the IPL-8 opening ceremony, the crowd stayed back to savour the show, that began almost two hours late.

Yesterday, even as grey clouds hovered above right through the day posing a threat, fans in this cricket-crazy city didn't want to miss out. Some 50,000 packed into the Eden to see the opening match of IPL-8 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians.
