New Delhi: A court here Tuesday declared underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his aide Chhota Shakeel proclaimed offenders in the IPL spot-fixing case.
Additional Sessions Judge Neena Bansal Krishna declared the duo proclaimed offenders in the case after police completed the proceedings of their property attachment.
Earlier, the court had issued non-bailable warrants against them.
Delhi Police Tuesday informed the court, which had in August issued fresh directions to initiate property attachment proceedings against the duo, one property each of Dawood and Shakeel in Mumbai has already been attached in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
Police also informed court that both of them have not returned India after 1993 blasts.
On July 30, 2013, Delhi Police filed a charge sheet in the IPL spot-fixing case, alleging that Dawood and Shakeel, who have been controlling the betting racket in cricket in India, were behind the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal.
The formal set of charges, running into 6,000 pages, named cricketers S. Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan among&nbsp;other accused in the scandal related to the IPL-6 held in 2013.
The accused have been charged with offences of cheating and conspiracy under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
