1993 Allan Border came out in the open saying that former Pakistan skipper Mushtaq Mohd had offered him one million USD to lose the fifth Test against England in Edgbaston. Thirteen years later, the Pakistan batting great spoke for the first time about Border's claims and said that the two only had a tongue-in-cheek conversation on the sidelines of the Test match. 1995 Shane Warne and fellow spinner Tim May told the Australian Cricket Board that Pakistan skipper Salim Malik offered them 1,35,000 pounds each to play badly in a Test match. After Conn's story, the Board announced it at a press conference. 1997 Manoj Prabhakar wrote in Outlook magazine that a teammate offered him Rs 25 lakh to throw a one-day match during the Singer Series one-day competition in Sri Lanka. Hosts Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Australia were the other teams involved in the event. It was later revealed that the teammate was Kapil Dev, India's 1983 World Cup-winning captain, who denied the charge vehemently.
