India pacer Jasprit Bumrah's career graph has been in sync with Team India's success. Virat Kohli and Co. inflicted a whitewash in the five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka and Bumrah came up with an emphatic performance.
Finishing as the top wicket-taker in the series with 15 scalps, Bumrah broke the record of taking the most number of wickets in a bilateral ODI series featuring five matches. The Gujarat speedster eclipsed the record of Australian pacer Clint McKay, who had claimed 14 scalps in the five-match home series against Pakistan in 2010.

Bumrah also jumped 27 spots in the ICC ODI bowlers rankings to occupy the fourth spot.

Dream of donning whites Bumrah has sealed his place in the limited-overs format for India. But he has to still fulfil his dream &mdash; donning whites for India. "As a bowler you have to constantly learn new things and that's been my main aim all the time," he had said.
While the quest to learn is evident for all to see, Bumrah's childhood coach Kishore Trivedi (father of Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals pacer Siddharth) feels the youngster can still develop on his stamina and bowling variations in order to play Test cricket.
"The selectors are definitely analysing his performance. He should be given a chance in Tests, but for that he should develop his variations. He has a lot of variety like the in-swinging and out-swinging ball, yorkers and the slower one. He should have the stamina as well to bowl a long spell. He definitely has the potential," Trivedi told mid-day recently.
Bumrah was under Trivedi's watchful eyes for three years when he was studying at Nirman High School in Ahmedabad. "I coached him when he was in Class VIII, IX and X. When he started training under me, Jasprit was very raw in his bowling, but he gradually improved after a lot of practice.
His will power is his strong point. Whenever he performed badly, he never used to get disappointed, but was determined to do better. There was nobody who could stop him from performing," Trivedi added.
'Odd action, a weapon' Asked whether Bumrah had an odd action right from the start, he said: "Yes. Many people told him to change it, but I stopped him from doing so. This odd action is his greatest weapon. Batsmen have no clue whether the ball will come in or move out.
"I gave him this advice and he followed it. Today, he is reaping the fruits of it."
