The Supreme Court constituted Lodha Panel this morning submitted its report on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the Supreme Court and demanded action against the top management of the Indian cricket board claiming they have violated court orders.
In the report, Justic R M Lodha and his team have claimed that the Indian board has violated the court&rsquo;s orders on the number of selectors, meetings and in the preparation of the road map of implementation of the recommendations. The Lodha panel has demanded that the top brass of the BCCI, including its chief Anurag Thakur, be substituted instead by cricket administrators. The Lodha panel have also pleaded with the Chief Justice Of India for an early hearing and in reply the CJI said: &ldquo;We will hear the matter.&rdquo;
Further, asking the BCCI to comply with the Lodha panel&rsquo;s orders, the Supreme Court said: &ldquo;If the BCCI thinks they are law unto themselves, they are wrong.&rdquo;
Yesterday, the Lodha panel had said that it would file a status report with the country&rsquo;s apex court highlighting the &ldquo;impediments&rdquo; in the implementation of its reform proposals suggested to the Indian cricket board authorities. The SC-appointed panel held an internal meeting here to discuss the violations, specifically the election of secretary and appointment of a five-member selection committee, by BCCI in its Annual General Meeting on September 21.
