Praising Sachin Tendulkar's record-breaking double hundred, his former India coach Kapil Dev said Sachin Tendulkar shone as brightly on the cricket horizon as the sun. Speaking at a promotional event here, the former India captain said: "Sachin to Surya hai (Sachin is the sun). And, what can one say about the sun?"
"I am sure Tendulkar will play more innings like this because he's not only gifted, but he's also a fitness fanatic," said Kapil Dev. Former footballer P K Banerjee, who was sharing the dais with Kapil Dev, couldn't agree more. "Tendullkar's as fit as you were," Banerjee told Kapil. "In spite of suffering so many injuries, look at the way Tendulkar is playing," Banerjee said. Kapil said Tendulkar is a role model for youngsters with his discipline.
"He's climbed every peak. The secret of his success is dedication and discipline. Without discipline you can't climb any ladder," said Kapil.
