Nevertheless, the fast bowler added that he did not regret getting the Little Master out just because he is featuring in his final first-class match. “You don’t get many chances to get Sachin out,” Mohit said after the first day’s play.

“You are always happy when you get a big wicket, especially if it is Sachin sir’s wicket. I just bowled wicket-to-wicket as it is difficult to bat on this pitch initially,” added Mohit. On his way to the dressing room after getting out, Tendulkar was seen holding his elbow which the ball touched before hitting his stumps.

The 8000 capacity stadium was packed much before the visitors came out to bat in the afternoon. Tendulkar was accorded a guard of honour by both teams before the game began.

Mohit, who plays for CSK in the IPL, claimed there was no special preparations for the match. “Every player wants to do well. They enter a match with specific plans. We were prepared like any normal game.”
