&gt;&gt;u00a0Dhruv Pandove: A talented left-handed batsman and leg-spinner from Punjab died in a road accident in January 1992. Pandove was barely 18 years old and had made quick strides in Ranji Trophy cricket for Punjab. In fact, the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) renamed the Baradari Ground to Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium, in tribute. Also, PCA recently organised the inaugural Invitation Cricket Tournament for Boys (U-19) for the Dhruv Pandove Trophy, in memory of the late all-rounder.u00a0 &gt;&gt; Ghulam Shaikh: A fine left-arm spinner of the late 1970s, he succumbed to brain tumour in 1981 at the age of 22. City cricket experts reckoned he would have surely played for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. Shaikh used to turn up for Dadar Union Sporting Club and played with the likes of Sunil Gavaskar and Dilip Vengsarkar. He used to complain of severe headaches before being diagnosed with brain tumour. He played for India U-22 against West Indies on their 1978-79 tour of India, and took five wickets in the first innings.u00a0u00a0u00a0 &gt;&gt; Rohan Manjrekar: A budding U-19 cricketer, and nephew of filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar rammed his bike into a taxi last October and was declared dead on admission to a city hospital. An off-spinner, he was to attend a camp a day after his accident, after being picked in the probables list for Mumbai's U-19 side.
