Former Test opener Sudhir Naik has ended his 10-year streak with the Wankhede Stadium for which he was consultant curator. Naik was overseeing ground operations at the Churchgate Test venue as well as the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana in Kandivli and has informed the Mumbai Cricket Association that he would not be available from June 1.

"I've had enough of this back-biting from Nadim Memon (former Wankhede curator, now in charge of the MCA's ground at BKC), who I have heard keeps on saying that I am not doing my job well. The Wankhede Stadium has been getting awards for the last three years. Doesn't that mean a good job is being done? My role as consultant is to ensure the curators and groundsmen do a good job at both venues during BCCI matches and I've done that," said Naik.
