Madurai: A teenage boy died on Saturday after being allegedly attacked with a bat by a rival team player over a quarrel on who should bat first in a local cricket match in Madurai, police said.

17-year old Kalipandi died without responding to treatment at a hospital here where he was admitted in an unconscious condition after the incident at the Villapuram Housing Board Ground here on Wednesday.
