Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini expressed his satisfaction after his side progressed to the last 32 in the Europa League. Two goals from Mario Balotelli, either side of half time, and one from Adam Johnson were enough to secure a comfortable victory against Salzburg at Eastlands. It means City have a date in the next stage of the competition in February with a game to spare. Mancini said: "I am glad we are through as we can now focus on the Barclays Premier League." Balotelli, a ufffd24million signing from Inter Milan in the summer, made the breakthrough with a stunning volley following a cross from Pablo Zabaleta. He then extended City's lead by sweeping the ball home from close range after being set up by Patrick Vieira - one of eight changes in the side - with John son also having a hand in the move. Balotelli, who did not celebrate either goal, was given a standing ovation when he come off in the latter stages of the match and replaced by Emmanuel Adebayor. Mancini explained: "That is just him. It is normal for him as he does it every day in training. He came off with a little knock. "I think he can improve on that performance. He could run more and take more of his chances. He might have got two or three more goals." That them was echoed by Vieira who told Five: "He's scored so many goals already, he's a goalscorer but he needs to work harder to help the team. But he is a good finisher." Johnson rounded off the victory with a fine individual effort after leaving three dispirited Salzburg players in his wake. He said: "I like coming inside on my right foot to try and get shots off, and luckily tonight I got another goal. "It was tough, in Europe it's slower than the Premier League and that showed but we got the result we wanted." Mancini added: "My only disappointment tonight was we could have scored more goals in the first 20 to 25 minutes." City's final group game will be on December 16 in Turin against fallen giants Juventus, who exited the competition tonight following a 1-1 draw against Lech Poznan. u00a0
