Ishant&rsquo;s omission was on expected lines once the Delhi pacer was dropped after the second ODI against New Zealand where he managed to pick up four wickets, conceding 118 runs at an economy rate of 7.86.

Ishant had become a butt of jokes on social networking sites after a poor series against Australia at home where he went for 189 runs in three matches at an average of 94.50 with two wickets. In two ODIs against South Africa, the lanky paceman claimed four wickets at an average of 19.50.
According to Prabhakar, Ishant has stopped learning. &ldquo;From what I have heard, he is just not open to learning. When someone like Gautam Gambhir can hire a personal coach like WV Raman, then why can&rsquo;t Ishant do the same? You need to bow to take blessings,&rdquo; Prabhakar told MiD DAY from Delhi yesterday.

The former Delhi coach noticed Ishant&rsquo;s left hand is not in the right position at the time of release of the ball. &ldquo;Once his left hand is in the correct position, everything will fall in place. Because of this, his wrist position is not accurate.
The coaches in the Indian team are useless if they are not able to rectify these errors.
&ldquo;India has invested so much in Ishant, but instead of being an asset, he is now becoming a liability for the team,&rdquo; the former India seamer said.
With the experienced Ishant not in the side, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is likely to spearhead the relatively inexperienced pace attack which includes Mohammed Shami, Ishwar Pandey, Varun Aaron and Mohit Sharma (only for the World T20). &ldquo;We will get experience once these guys play more. The right talent should be given opportunities. We have to keep blooding talented youngsters,&rdquo; Prabhakar concluded.
