"As far as I know, players have been accused of fancy fixing, to bowl no-balls so they all must be investigated seriously and then strict action must be taken against those who are proved guilty," The Daily Times quoted Qasim, as saying. Former captain Aamir Sohail called on President and PCB patron Asif Ali Zardari to recall the management and players against whom allegations had been made. "It is a disgrace for Pakistan cricket. I don't think this board or management can do anything now when all this has happened under their nose," Sohail said. "Now it is time for the President to act and show the world we are serious about tackling corruption in sports," he added. Meanwhile, former fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz said that he was not shocked at the reports. "I have been vocal about Pakistan players' involvement in match fixing. I have said this before and now I reiterate that all the players involved must be banned for life because they have let the whole nation and the fans down," Nawaz said. "How often they have done that and we have let them off," he added. The Lord's Test was played in the midst of a controversy following the arrest by British police of a man on match-fixing allegations connected to the match. A British tabloid has alleged that seven members of the Pakistan team, including captain Salman Butt, were involved in a 150,000-pound betting scam with London-based agent Mazhar Majeed. Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed had earlier confirmed that Scotland Yard police officials had questioned him and several players over the allegations. Yawar said that police officials recorded statements from Butt, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamir and Kamran Akmal.
