The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has written to ex-India cricket captain Nari Contractor informing him of the change in authorised signatories for Parsi Cyclist Sports Club.

Contractor on Tuesday issued a press release stating that he is “deeply saddened, upset and disturbed” to hear news of the club being “sold.” His letter of March 14 to the MCA seeking clarification on the club’s status and a reminder the following month, did not evoke a response from the MCA. mid-day reported on Tuesday that the former India batsman would receive a response from the Churchgate establishment and he did. It is learnt that Contractor, 91, will meet MCA pillar and former president Sharad Pawar today.

Meanwhile, MCA’s letter to Contractor, signed by its Secretary Abhay Hadap, stated: “We have received letter dated 17h December 2024 signed by Mr Homi Mehta, President and Mr RB Iranpur, Hon Secretary of Parsee Cyclists Sports Club alongwith the Resolution dated 2nd December 2024 passed in the Board meeting of Parsee Cyclists Sports Club, informing the Association about the change in the Authorised Signatories of the said Club.

“Pursuant to the above mentioned letter and resolution, the Apex Council approved Mrs Karishma Samat (President) and Mr Suraj M Samat (Hon Secretary) as the new authorized signatories of Parsee Cyclists Sports Club, replacing Mr Homi Mehta and Mr RB Iranpur. We are enclosing herewith the copies of above mentioned letter and resolution received from the Club for your reference.” Contactor, it is learnt, has also written to the MCA ombudsman.
