Pakistani batting stalwart Inzamam ul Haq couldn’t take it anymore when a fan at the 1997 India vs Pakistan ODI series in Toronto kept teasing him about his weight. Inzy got a bat out from the Pakistan dressing room, chased the offending spectator and very nearly struck him with the piece of willow.
On the flight to England for the 1989 Ashes, Australia’s top order batsman David Boon consumed 52 cans of beer which apparently broke all earlier marks set by Rod Marsh and Doug Walters. Reportedly, when the captain of the flight announced that Boonie took in what mere mortals couldn’t, coach Bob Simpson was furious. However, Boon scored on the runs chart as well.
